ICT Skills Priorities have Changed

THE LATEST ITWeb/JCSE skills survey has found that ICT skills priorities have changed slightly over the past year. The 2008 survey showed business intelligence/knowledge management (BI/KM) as the top priority for companies; this year, application development was number one and network infrastructure was second.

Report author Adrian Schofield, manager at the JCSE Applied Research Unit, said last year, companies indicated the skills in highest demand were process management and BI/KM. This year, the top two in demand are BI/KM and testing. The skill with least demand is implementation/support.
