XP Forum - Going Agile with Microsoft tools and processes. 2 July 2008

The speakers, Mark Wills and Martin Cronje from Digiterra Pty Ltd, introduced the Agile processes offered by Microsoft and provided an overview and some demo’s on the tooling offered by Microsoft and other vendors. They also discussed XP / Agile practices using Microsoft tools:

The Speakers: 

Mark Willis: has recently delivered the first version of Standard Bank’s new “Core Banking” composite application which was developed following an MSF Agile methodology over a 5 month period and delivered on time and under budget. He is currently engaged at the same client consulting on taking Agile process with the TFS tool set into other areas of the enterprise. Mark has over 8 years of IT experience implementing solutions on the Microsoft platform working for niche players and multi-nationals including Accenture/Microsoft. He has extensive experience in large scale enterprise custom development ranging a variety of technologies, Microsoft DNA, COM and .NET and specializes in .NET architecture and team/process management.

Martin Cronje has recently been using custom Domain Specific Languages and Model-Driven Software development to implement an Enterprise Service Bus as well as a Smart Client solution where modules were generated from a pre-defined model. Martin has over 8 years of IT experience implementing solutions on the Microsoft platform working for niche players and multi-nationals including Accenture and Datatec Logical. He has 6 years of experience designing systems, 3 of which were as a solutions architect. His application solutions experience includes websites, smart clients, web services and custom windows services and he has built integration solutions on the Microsoft platform to interact with  BizTalk, MSMQ, Java web services, IBM WepSphere MQ, IBM DB2, Software AG NATURAL, SWIFT and custom network adapters (TCP/IP & UDP).
