Public Lecture - Architecture from first principles

The lecture explored the commonalities of systems, organizational and buildings architecture. The presentation discussed architectural requirements as well as designing an architecture using architectural patterns, strategies and reference architectures. The lecture looked at architecture across levels of granularity. A core responsibility of an architect is to be able to assess and validate existing architectures. The lecture concluded with ways of assessing an architecture.

Presenter biography:

Dr Fritz Solms is currently the CEO of Solms Training, Consulting and Development. His main focus is on architecture design and assessment, technology neutral process design and model-driven development. He has published numerous papers in theoretical Physics and Computer Science and participates in a research collaboration on model-driven development between the University of Pretoria and Solms Training and Consulting.
