Cobus obtained his degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the University of Pretoria in 1996 after dabbling with computers in his spare time since 1984. He has been involved in the IT industry for the past 15 years, with the last 10 years spent as a consultant and more recently solutions/integration architect to various financial institutions and telecommunications companies. He has solid experience in communication protocols, systems integration and database systems. Cobus has also been acting as an external examinor for the Electronic and Computer Engineering degree at UP for the past 9 years and has on occation lectured the Masters degree course in Systems Engineering at Tukkies.
