Agile Forum - Being agile

A story of agile software development, from cocktail party buzzwords to real life practical experience over more than 10 years. How do you start out with an agile project? Where do you take it? This talk  covered a wide spectrum of the agile experience, including delivering on customer needs, teams, planning and tools. How testing, test driven development and refactoring make up a cornerstone agility. Also a look at recent topics of discussion on XP such as the agile manifesto, YAGNI and testing and others. Fortunately there's always room for improvement and we have a few things to learn, places to go.

Speaker Name: Otto Behrens, Finworks

Background:

Otto Behrens studied BSc. (hons) Computer Science and have been in full time software development since 1992. He started off in the military industry, writing C++ applications mostly. He then moved to Momentum life and started his affair with Smalltalk and an Object Database. Most of his work has been in the investment administration industry with insurance product wrappers. After living in the UK for 2 years, he started a business called FinWorks in 2005 with his partner, working with Momentum Life and other investment companies, such as Allan Gray.
