If you are an entrepreneur with a software prototype that will go to market within 12 to 18 Months, the Joburg Centre for Software Engineering (JCSE) invites you to join its: |

This initiative is aimed at entrepreneurs that wish to take their solution to market in the next 12 to 18 months. The pre-incubator provides access to the Microsoft Innovation Center, the Open Software Centre and the Wits Convergence laboratory for development and testing of software solutions. In addition, as members of the JCSE, incubator companies will have access to the experts within the JCSE, Wits and the JCSE partner network and the opportunity to participate in JCSE events and courses to assist them further developing their products and skill sets.
Eligibility and Requirements
- South African citizen or permanent resident
- Must have a working prototype of a software application
- Must have a business plan describing how a viable business can be set up around this prototype application
- Must have sufficient resources available to pay a low monthly rent and cover expenses for at least 1 year.
Participants Receive
- Developer tools and a wide range of software
- Workshop with experts from the JCSE in relevant fields
- Ongoing mentorship from the JCSE
- Access to laboratories at JCSE
- Free Individual JCSE Partnership for each developer in company (i.e. 1000 JCSE Points) giving access to all of the JCSE skills development programmes and resources
- Additional 500 JCSE Points per month for the company
- Access to JCSE's Expert Panel (fee in "partner points" will be levied).

- A screening panel from the JCSE and its partners will review all applications.
- Short-listed applicants will present proposals to a selection committee including potential investors from relevant sectors.
- Successful applicants will be selected.
- Agreements will be signed
